Susucaru is the entry-level wine from iconic Etna based low-intervention winemaker Frank Cornelissen.
It's mostly a field-blend made in a way that is bright, light and slightly tart with a red cherry, wet stone and earthy tone. Unlike Frank's more tannic, cru wines like Munjebel and Magma, Susucaru has a 'mega-gluggable' profile that's difficult not to love on a summer afternoon.
2019 notes: Less fruit than the previous vintage and more minerality. Interesting first impression of spice and a touch of leather like you would expect from a “big wine”, but its Susucaru and so kept light, however, its the kind of wine that feels more serious than other recent vintages, which will develop over the next few hours a little more.
Beautiful light expressions of blackberry, liquorice, white pepper, lime, alongside touches of leather & spice.
