Susucaru is the entry-level wine from iconic Etna based low-intervention winemaker Frank Cornelissen.
It's mostly a field-blend made in a way that is bright, light and slightly tart with a red cherry, wet stone and earthy tones.
Unlike Frank's more tannic, cru wines like Munjebel range and Magma, Susucaru has a 'mega-gluggable' profile that's difficult not to love on a summer afternoon. However, this 2020 (and 2019) vintage is deeper, and richer than previous vintages.
Expect peppery hits and black fruit explosions. Lovely mouthfeel that is serious, yet approachable. A lovely wine!

The most accessible bottle from iconic winemaker Frank Cornelissen, this lovely light red has the grippy tannins you might expect from his other wines, but they are more tingley and easy-going. Flavours that you might find are tart cherry, a touch of leather, vanilla and redcurrant which all mingle together beautifully. A highly sought after wine for good reason.
