Emmeram by Gut Oggau is a fine, fragrant Gewürztraminer, with berries that come from a plant that is about 40 years old. Before pressing, the grapes are macerated on their skins for only a few hours, as any longer and Emmeram would become too clumsy and lose its finesse and humour.
The wine is fermented spontaneously in used 500 litre barrels and after one year of maturation without batonnage and additional sulphur, it is bottled unvarnished and unfiltered. Emmeram is definitely the most exotic and cheerfully fruity member of the family.
Family tree:
Mechthild’s and Bertholdi’s son and the brother of Joschuari and Timotheus. He is the bird of paradise in the Oggau vineyard family and a globetrotter, whose fascinating and interesting personality has a phenomenal effect on women.
His main characteristics are his good sense of humour and athletic build. Still believes firmly that he is the father of Wiltrudes’s daughter Theodora.
