Sakai Winery is one of the oldest producers in Japan, established in 1892. It is still run by the fifth generation of the same family and now part of the first small wave natural winemakers in Japan.
Birdup Red is a co-fermented blend of many different obscure table grapes with Muscat Bailey A as the base. It is softly sparkling with notes of cherries and winter spices and a touch of salty umeboshi.
Just 15ppm sulphites added at bottling.
